Milovan Šuvakov

I am a scientist and, since 2018, a Research Associate at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. My work in bioinformatics focuses on the detection and analysis of mosaic mutations in whole-genome sequencing data.

I was born in Belgrade and grew up in Kula and Vrbas, Serbia. I studied physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade (B.S. and M.S.), and completed my Ph.D. at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Prior to Mayo Clinic, I was a Research Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics Belgrade. My early research centered on numerical modeling across a variety of fields, including complex networks, kinetic theory, charge transport in nanoparticle assemblies, and celestial mechanics.

Outside of research, I have a wide range of hobbies, including 3D printing, electronics, CNC machining, hydroponics, and beekeeping.
